Levi Colwill has stated that Chelsea’s 3-2 win against Brighton on Sunday was a show of character in the team.
The Blues fought to earn maximum points against Roberto De Zerbi’s men at home, despite going a man down before half-time.
Conor Gallagher received a double booking for fouling two different Brighton players, and was shown the way out after centre referee, Craig Pawson flashed him a red card.
There were fears that the team was going to suffer another bashing similar to the one against Newcastle just a week before, but they found strength from within, and held on for the win.
Speaking after the match, Colwill told the Evening Standard: “It was a good reaction to last week; we had to come to prove a point.
“When going down to 10 men, we had to show everyone we are a strong enough team to see it through, which we have done.
“Of course, you find different things out about yourself and your teammates. We’ve always known we’ve had it in us. We just had to show it to everyone else today. We are buzzing to get the three points and give that to the fans.”
