Mauricio Pochettino has stated that conceding many goals is sometimes, a part of what comes with playing offensive football.
The Argentine made the assertion while reacting to Chelsea’s 3-2 Premier League win against Brighton on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues went 2-0 up in the first half, before Facundo Buonanotte pulled one back for the visitors, who later scored in the 92nd minute, following Enzo Fernandez’s second-half penalty.
Chelsea have now conceded 22 league goals this season, twice more than table-toppers, Arsenal after just 14 games.
However, Pochettino said after the victory at Stamford Bridge: ‘I am so tired, it was so emotional, but we needed to get the three points and we got the three points. That is entertainment, that is football. People love to see that. In the last few games we were involved in two very good games, that is why the Premier League is the best league in the world and why we all want to be here, because it is entertaining.
‘Of course, I want to score 10 goals and concede zero, but if you want to be an offensive team sometimes it means taking risks and you concede chances and sometimes goals. It’s about winning.’
