Mauricio Pochettino has admitted he expects a difficult match when Chelsea welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Stamford Bridge for their Premier League clash on Sunday.
The Blues are six points behind Brighton. Both sides were 10th and 8th before the weekend round of matches.
Chelsea need a response after succumbing to a 4-1 defeat against Newcastle United last weekend, while Brighton on the other hand, go into the game feeling confident from back to back wins in the Premier League and the Europa League.
Speaking to the media ahead of the game, Pochettino said: “They are doing a fantastic job and of course they are a very good team with very good coaching staff. I know very well Roberto [De Zerbi] and I think he is doing a fantastic job.”
Sunday’s meeting will afford Moises Caicedo a chance to play against his former side for the first time in the Premier League since he left them for Chelsea in the summer. This is also the case for Robert Sanchez, who sealed a £25m transfer to Stamford Bridge from De Zerbi’s side. Both players however featured in the League Cup game back in September, as Chelsea beat Brighton 1-0.
