Nicolas Jackson is not good enough to be Chelsea’s main striker, and that is according to former Blue, Craig Burley.
Burley made the claim after Chelsea’s 4-1 defeat to Newcastle over the weekend.
Jackson was presented with some decent opportunities to score during the game, but the 22-year-old wasted too much time to get away a shot on those occasions, and ended up losing possession.
Burley later told ESPN: “Let’s be honest, Nico Jackson’s not the answer.
“I don’t dislike (Armando) Broja, I know he’s had his injury problems. But I think I’d rather have him up front than Jackson. I know he got his goals against Tottenham.
“But come on, let’s be realistic, they were down to nine men at the time.”
Chelsea are already being linked with signing a fresh striker in January, although, it is still unclear who the club will end up going for, with names like Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney top on the list.
