Mauricio Pochettino is a big fan of Wesley Fofana, and that is according to football journalist, Fabrizio Romano.

Romano shared on his official ‘X’ account on Thursday, the news that Fofana had started training on the grass after a lengthy injury layoff. Of course, Chelsea had also revealed the development via the club’s verified handles on social media platforms.

However, beyond just sharing the news of Fofana’s recovery progress, Romano also added that Pochettino is a fan of the 22-year-old, who Chelsea signed from Leicester City in 2022 for around £75m.

This will come as great news for the Frenchman after he managed just 15 appearances for the Blues last season as a result of his recurrent injury problems.

Fofana is obviously a class defender, but even he will know that things may no longer be the way they used to be at Chelsea, and he’ll have to work extra hard to get into Pochettino’s starting XI, with talented defenders like Thiago Silva, Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile, Levi Colwill and Trevor Chalobah all at the club.
