Danny Murphy has expressed confidence that Chelsea will do Newcastle United some damage when they take them on this weekend.

The Blues will on Saturday, travel up north to take on Eddie Howe’s men at St. James’ Park in hopes of continuing their good form against top table opposition in the Premier League this season.

The Blues have not lost against any of the traditional big clubs in the division this term after picking up draws against Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, and getting an impressive 4-1 victory against Tottenham Hotspur.

Newcastle have also proven difficult to play against this season, especially at home where Chelsea have exactly done well themselves.

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy however believes that the Magpies won’t be able to stand Chelsea this Saturday, due to their ongoing injury crisis.

He said on FIVE: “I think Chelsea will win at Newcastle because of Newcastle’s injuries.”

It’s good to be positive as Chelsea go into this game, but we have to also remember that the Blues were beaten 1-0 at St. James’ Park last season, but then, that was before Pochettino took over as manager.
