Former Wolves defender, Conor Coady has praised Cole Palmer for his calmness and composure after watching the 21-year-old play for England last Friday.
Palmer made a second-half appearance for the Three Lions, as they went on to beat Malta 2-0. It was the Chelsea star’s first senior game for England, having impressed at the U-21 level.
The Chelsea attacker didn’t play for very long in the game, but he did attempt a few take-ons, which many have now come to know him with since he moved to Stamford Bridge.
Coady was impressed with what he saw from the £42.3m man, although he said he admitted that it wasn’t really much of a surprise to him.
“I fully expected it seeing the confidence he’s playing with at Chelsea at the minute,” he told Football Daily.
“We’ve obviously seen his goal and how he played last weekend in the big game against [Manchester] City and I fully expected it as well because he comes across as so calm and how he plays, but I thought he done really, really well and it’s a proud moment for him and his family.”
