Ex-Aston Villa star, Darren Bent has urged Gareth Southgate to make Conor Gallagher a regular in his England starting XI after watching the midfielder impress for Chelsea this season.
Gallagher has been a key player for Mauricio Pochettino’s side since the start of the season, and those displays have earned him a place in Southgate’s latest squad.
The 23-year-old’s place in the Three Lions’ squad is however, not assured due to the array of stars that Southgate has, but Bent has called for him to consider the Chelsea man as part of a three-man midfield.
Bent wrote on Twitter: “I’m starting to think Declan Rice, Jude Bellingham and Gallagher as England’s midfield three.
“Gallagher has been outstanding under Mauricio Pochettino! Gareth Southgate likes two holders [holding midfielders], so Gallagher could be a better option.”
