Moises Caicedo has admitted he would have preferred it if Chelsea had won their Sunday clash against Manchester City instead of getting a draw.
The Blues put on a great fight at home to deny the reigning Premier League champions, who took the lead three times at Stamford Bridge.
Thiago Silva, Raheem Sterling, Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer were the goalscorers for Chelsea in the thrilling 4-4 draw which now sees the Blues back into the top half of the league table.
Chelsea were arguably at their attacking best in the encounter, and might have won the game if not for the crazy officiating from the referees (the decision to give Man City a penalty was clearly wrong).
Caicedo however, says he’s happy with the way he and his teammates performed in the game, as he believes it’s evidence of the fact that they’ve been working hard.
He said: “We’re very happy with the performance of the team as Man City are a great side. We gave it our best and it was a good team performance, but of course we would have liked to win the game.
“However scoring a penalty at the end to draw, it shows good character and I think it has to be considered a good result.
“We are growing as a team. We are working hard together, we are listening to the coaching staff and I think step by step we are improving every day.
“We are working very hard to improve as a team and it’s been a good week for us. We had an incredible win at Tottenham and even though we didn’t beat City, we put in a very good performance and showed we can challenge with these teams.”
