Christopher Nkunku has told the Chelsea faithful he will ‘see you soon’ after being absent from first-team football for months.
The Frenchman sustained a terrible injury during pre-season, and has been undergoing rehabilitation ever since.
Nkunku has certainly made some progress in his recovery journey, as he’s already back to training, with Chelsea head coach, Mauricio Pochettino revealing that he may be available after the ongoing international break.
While it’s difficult to tell exactly what game the 26-year-old will be back for, there is an air of optimism that it could be in the clash against Newcastle United on November 25.
The fans are eager to see the attacker back in action for Chelsea, and the feeling appears to be mutual after he took to his ‘X’ account to reveal he is looking forward to seeing the fans ‘soon’ on his birthday on Tuesday.
The former Borussia Dortmund frontman wrote: “Thank you all for your messages. Big love. See you soon.”
Nkunku made 172 appearances for Dortmund, scoring 70 goals, and picking up 56 assists before he moved to Stamford Bridge.
