Malo Gusto has been forced to forfeit national team duties this month after picking up an injury.
The French international was involved in the game against Manchester City over the weekend after coming on in the second half to replace Reece James. He was also solid throughout, and ensured that the Blues got a point from the game.
Gusto finished the clash at Stamford Bridge, and seemed set to link up with his teammates at national team level, but the France U21s confirmed earlier this week that he will no longer be involved for them, as he’s currently dealing with a knee ligament problem.
It remains unclear how serious the injury is, but Gusto has been superb for Chelsea when he’s played at right-back in the absence of James, and fans will be hoping he recovers in time for the trip to St. James’ Park to face Newcastle United on November 25.
