Former Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott believes Pep Guardiola’s team would not be affected by the 4-4 draw against Chelsea on Sunday.

Lescott claims that last season’s treble winning squad are used to tough opposition and challenges, and it wouldn’t be a distraction for them, instead it could be intimidating for the opposing clubs.

City now sit three points clear on top of the Premier League table after claiming a point at the Stamford Bridge.

“It’s more devastating for the opposition,” said Lescott who was a special guest on Sunday’s latest Matchday Live show.

“I don’t think it will matter to this group of players and the coach because they’re used to being competitive and challenging for the title, so they’re used to being in those scenarios.

“It’s more formidable for Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool to look at the table and think we have to catch Man City and you only catch Man City by them dropping points.

“It doesn’t matter what [they] do, [City] can emulate their results. We’ve seen them go on 10,12 game winning streaks and that’s the new normal for the club.”
