Mauricio Pochettino is confidently looking ahead to Chelsea’s Premier League meeting with Manchester City this Sunday after watching his side knock Tottenham off the top of the Premier League table with a 4-1 win away from home last Monday.
The Citizens have however, since taken over that position, meaning that Chelsea have a difficult job on their hands if they want to inflict a defeat on the reigning champions, who have now won their last five in a row, but Pochettino says he’s excited about the game, especially given the calibre of the opponent.
“Pep is one of the best of the best coaches in the world and it’s always a challenge to play against him and the team that he’s coaching,” said the Chelsea boss.
“It’s a fantastic challenge, but I think it’s a pleasure and it’s going to be really nice to have the opportunity to face him in a game like Chelsea versus City.
“Sunday is going to be really nice to be involved in a game like this in the UK, in the Premier League and in a place like Stamford Bridge, where it is always fantastic to play.”
