Chelsea came from behind to draw Manchester City 4-4 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening.

The Blues put on arguably their best performance of the season against the reigning Premier League champions, who appeared to have won it after Rodri’s 84th minute strike, only for Cole Palmer to score from the spot in added time and ensure the spoils were shared — after Armando Broja was fouled in the City box late in stoppage time.

The game was an end-to-end affair from the blow of the first whistle, and Mauricio Pochettino will be proud of the performance his players put on, even when the odds seemed to be against them.

Erling Haaland scored City’s first goal from the penalty spot, with Marc Cucurella adjudged to have pulled down the Norwegian as he tried to get on the end of a cross. Thiago Silva then brought Chelsea level in the 29th minute after getting on the end of a Conor Gallagher corner.

Raheem Sterling made it 2-1 to the Blues with eight minutes to the end of the first period— his first goal against the Citizens since he left Liverpool, but it wasn’t too long before Manuel Akanji levelled for the visitors.

The second half saw Haaland score another goal, with Nicolas Jackson also netting his fourth Chelsea goal in two matches to make it 3-3.

In the 84th minute, Rodri scored from a deflected shot which came off Thiago Silva, and it looked like City will the all three points, but late substitute Armando Broja won a penalty in stoppage time, which was duly converted by Cole Palmer.
