Raheem Sterling has given his backing to Chelsea teammate, Nicolas Jackson to continue to improve and get better.

Jackson scored his first career hat-trick on Monday, as Chelsea thrashed nine-Man Tottenham 4-1 away from home.

The Senegal international has had a relatively difficult start to life at Stamford Bridge, following his summer move from Villarreal, but Sterling believes he will only keep getting better from here, even though he now has six goals in 13 matches across all competitions.

“To score goals it’s a collective, I don’t think it’s on individuals,” Sterling told Stadium Astro when asked about Jackson.

“Of course, individuals have to take their opportunities but I feel like us as a team we have to try and be in positions to make opportunities easier.

“Me myself, to try and bring the ball into position to try and create and we see him in training, we know what he’s capable of.

“Personally I think he just needs to focus on giving everything like he has been, and the goals will flow.”
