Gareth Southgate claims he didn’t enjoy Chelsea’s win against Tottenham

England manager, Gareth Southgate has claimed he didn’t enjoy the match between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur on Monday because it was ‘boring’.

The Blues claimed a 4-1 win over one of their bitter rivals in the Premier League, amid plenty VAR decisions.

The hosts saw two of their players receive red cards, with a total of five goals being disallowed.

Asked to speak about the game during a press conference this week, Southgate said: “I was bored watching the game, I was at the ground and it kept stopping!

“Never mind the players, what about the fans? The flip side of that is that the decisions were all right in the end, I think.

“If that’s the purpose then fine, but it’s sucking the enjoyment out of goals, I think the ball in play was incredibly low even with 21 minutes of added time.

“I talked about VAR a month ago, there’s no point in me going on about it again.”
