The English FA have taken a decision on whether or not to punish Raheem Sterling after the Chelsea forward was spotted in a video throwing a missile at Tottenham fans.
The video, which was shared on TikTok by the official Chelsea account captured the moment from Monday’s 4-1 win against Spurs.
The clip shows Sterling picking up a missile that was thrown at him by the home fans, before launching it back into the crowd.
There were fears that the winger could be handed a major punishment, like a match ban after Spurs forward, Richarlison was given a similar punishment for doing the exact same thing back in May 2022 while he was still with Everton, but according to a report by the Evening Standard, the FA have decided against doing so.
The report claims that there was an investigation into the matter, but it has now ended with Sterling escaping punishment.
This will come as good news to Chelsea fans and Mauricio Pochettino, who said he was calm about the issue during his pre-match press conference on Friday.
The Chelsea boss said: “I hear something to be honest but we cannot find nothing. That is why we are quiet and calm and relaxed.
“I didn’t see anything on Monday. We hope nothing is going on with an action that could be punished.”
