Cole Palmer has admitted he’s happy to see Nicolas Jackson scoring goals for Chelsea again.

Jackson was on target three times, and went home with the match ball, as Chelsea beat Tottenham 4-1 away from home.

For a player that had been very criticised for his lack of goals after his move from Villarreal over the summer, the Senegal international was delighted with his hat-trick, as was teammate, Palmer.

“It was a big game before we came here today and they were unbeaten,” the 21-year-old said.

“It has been a difficult start for him [Nicolas Jackson] and we can’t hide from it. He just needs to work hard on the training pitch and keep his head down, then I think he will get many hat-tricks.

“I think in the early stages, we were losing too many second balls. When the ball was bouncing. We grew into the game as it went on.”

On Tottenham’s red cards, Palmer added: “It is easier to play against nine men. We knew we needed to win the game when they went down to 10 men. We needed to keep pressing and making runs in behind because the line.”
