Former Chelsea winger, Pat Nevin has hailed Cole Palmer as a younger version of Manchester City midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne.

Palmer signed for Chelsea from City over the summer transfer window, and has been brilliant in every game since.

The 21-year-old was particularly impressive in games against Arsenal, Brentford, and Blackburn, with his displays in those matches earning him high praise from many pundits— including Nevin, who thinks he will become world class in no time.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Nevin stated. “There are rays of hope (at Chelsea), however. The brightest is Cole Palmer.

“I was wary of saying it out loud before but, watching him at the Bridge once again, I am convinced this lad could be world-class very soon.

“He is the closest I have seen to a young Kevin De Bruyne for a very long time.”
