Former Chelsea midfielder, Steve Sidwell has backed Tottenham to take all three points on the table when they host Chelsea at their stadium on Monday.
Mauricio Pochettino will look to hand Ange Potescoglu’s side their first defeat of the season when he makes his first return to the Spurs stadium since taking over as Chelsea manager over the summer.
Spurs have proven to be the surprise package of the current league season, having gone 10 games unbeaten, and sit two points clear at the top of the table.
Chelsea will go into Monday’s game feeling very capable of inflicting a major blow on Spurs, with the Blues themselves having given their best in the big games so far this season, although, Sidwell believes Chelsea will still come short in the contest.
He told The Peter Crouch podcast: “What worries me is Chelsea – striker. With them it looks like they are getting better than two steps back. I’m actually going to back Spurs, I don’t see Chelsea winning it. Chelsea reject [the crowd are shouting]. I think 2-0 Spurs. I think Spurs at home. I’m going to get battered for this, but I think Tottenham 2-0.”
