Christopher Nkunku has suggested his Chelsea return may be sooner than expected.

The Frenchman has been out injured since pre-season, and is now in the final stages of his recovery after he was spotted training at Cobham last week. Mauricio Pochettino also said the striker may be available to play later this November.

Nkunku recently took to social media to celebrate Chelsea’s Carabao Cup victory against Blackburn, and hinted he could return for the quarter finals where Chelsea will face Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge.

He shared a photo of his Chelsea teammate celebrating the 2-0 win with the caption ‘next round’, alongside a green tick and clapping emoji.

Nkunku’s return will be delightful for Chelsea fans, who have been looking forward to seeing him in a competitive game for the Blues after his goalscoring exploits during pre-season.
