‘We need to learn from mistakes’: Pochettino sends important message to Chelsea owners

Mauricio Pochettino has subliminally told Chelsea owners to be very careful not to repeat the same mistakes that have left the club rooted in mid-table for months now.

Chelsea have spent over £1bn on players’ transfers since Todd Boehly and his co-owners took over from Roman Abramovich, with very little to show for it.

Not only did the Blues finish 12th in the Premier League last season, Chelsea are currently 11th on the table after 10 games.

Pochettino was appointed head coach of Chelsea over the summer, following the sacking of Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter, and the Argentine has been working to make the club very competitive again.

Multiple reports have recently claimed that Pochettino will have greater influence on Chelsea transfers going forward.

The former Tottenham boss has now urged for more synergy between the stakeholders in the club’s hierarchy in order for the team to improve on the pitch.

“Things that go against you, you have to try to resist them and try to survive,” Pochettino said.

“You have to be quiet and be strong. And not to lose your balance, because it is easy to blame or say something that is going to affect other people and lead to division in the club.

“The important thing is to trust the ideas, the judgment and analysis of why certain things have not happened. To help the organisation to be better and to improve, and not to make the same mistakes again. The most important thing is to learn from the mistakes.”
