Reece James has taken to social media to express happiness upon his return to Chelsea’s starting XI.
The right-back was out injured since the opening weekend of the Premier League season, and didn’t play his first ball until the Blues’ 2-2 draw with Arsenal, where he came on as a substitute two weeks ago.
James also played from the bench against Brentford last Saturday, as Chelsea dropped three points at home.
The Chelsea captain was however included in the starting XI against Blackburn on Wednesday, playing for about an hour before he was replaced by Malo Gusto.
After the game, which Chelsea won 2-0, James took to his social media, and wrote: “Long a** 3 months since I started, but good to get more minutes in the legs,” the right-back wrote.
“Thanks for the continued support. Onto the quarter final. See you on Monday night.”
James’ presence on Wednesday was undoubtedly influential to Chelsea’s progression to the next round of the League Cup, as he created many chances, and fans will be hopeful he’s available to play Tottenham next Monday.
