Benoit Badiashile has admitted that Chelsea’s game against Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday wasn’t an easy one.
The Blues beat their Championship opponent 2-0 at Stamford Bridge to progress to the last eight of the Carabao Cup, where they’ll now take on Newcastle. Eddie Howe’s men secured victory over Manchester United to book their spot in next round.
Badiashile was on target for Chelsea despite the game being his first since May, and during his post-match reaction, he admitted he felt good to be back. The Frenchman also highlighted the need for Chelsea to give the type of response they provided after their disappointing 2-0 defeat to Brentford last weekend.
“When you lose a game, you have a bad feeling,” he said.
“But as players, you have to be focused on the next game.
“A win is always something great for the feeling [of the team]. It was a tough game but we got the win. That is what’s most important.”
Badiashile was withdrawn in the second half of the clash— a move suspected to be Mauricio Pochettino’s way of gradually easing him back into things.
