Football pundit, Tony Cascarino has compared Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson to Richarlison.
Richarlison joined Tottenham this year, and has struggled to replicate his form at Everton for them.
The Brazilian’s story, according to Cascarino, is similar to that of Jackson, who was signed from Villarreal after his goalscoring run towards the end of last season.
In 11 appearances for Chelsea this term, the 22-year-old has scored just three times, although his overall play isn’t bad at all. But strikers are often judged by goals, which isn’t exactly in lots of supply for Jackson at the moment.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Cascarino said of the Senegal International: “Nicolas Jackson is a bit like Richarlison for Tottenham, they’re carrying him a bit and he’s finding it difficult. He’s not got that instinct to strike a ball properly, but he also wasn’t given a lot [of opportunities].”
Cascarino’s comments came off the back of Jackson’s performance in Chelsea’s 2-0 loss to Brentford last Saturday. The forward wasn’t at his best at all on that occasion, and even had a Chelsea supporter shout at him during the game.
