Chelsea assistant coach, Jesus Perez has been charged by the English football association after his bench area collision with the coaching staff from Brentford.
The Blues succumbed to a 2-0 home defeat to the Bees on Saturday, with Perez getting a red card in the latter stages of game.
The coach, who is a long-serving assistant to Mauricio Pochettino was involved in an argument with Brentford’s bench after he mistakenly strayed into their technical area. According to the rules of the game, it is a punishable offence, hence the sending off.
Poch has since apologised on Perez’s behalf, but it hasn’t stopped the FA from filing a ‘misconduct’ charge against his assistant.
The FA said in a statement: “Chelsea’s assistant head coach, Jesus Perez has been charged with misconduct following their Premier League game against Brentford on Saturday, October 28.
“It’s alleged that his conduct during the 88th minute which led to his dismissal was improper, and he has until Thursday, November 2 to provide a response.”
