Former goalkeeper, Shaka Hislop has opined that Christopher Nkunku returning would make a great difference for Chelsea.

The Frenchman is yet to kick a ball for the Blues this season, following his £52m transfer from RB Leipzig.

Nkunku picked up a knee injury while taking part in pre-season friendlies with Chelsea, and has been sidelined ever since.

Chelsea have had great difficulties scoring goals since the start of the season— and this is despite them playing well and creating lots of chances. The same was the case again, as Chelsea were defeated 2-0 by Brentford on Saturday, but Hislop believes that Nkunku returning would change that.

He said on ESPN FC: “I think the silver lining or maybe two in this case is that Nkunku, by all accounts, is back training.

“So we’ll see how long it takes him to regain fitness, find himself back in the startling line-up and find form. And I think his presence transforms this team from a goalscoring perspective.”

Nkunku recently got back in training for Chelsea, and reports say he may be available in November.
