Chelsea legend singles out two Chelsea stars for blame in Brentford loss
Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf has singled out Axel Disasi and Noni Madueke for blame over Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat to Brentford last Saturday.
The Blues were handed their fo win urth Premier League loss of the season after Brentford scored two second-half goals to snatch their third-straight at Stamford Bridge.
Ethan Pinnock and Bryan Mbeumo were the goalscorers for Thomas Frank’s men, but it was a game that Chelsea could have easily won if they had their scoring boots on.
Cole Palmer carved out a number of great chances for the likes of Marc Cucurella, Nicolas Jackson and Raheem Sterling in the first-half alone, but they were all spurned.
Leboeuf however believes that both Madueke and Cucurella were to blame for the goals Chelsea conceded due to their poor decision-making.
“The first goal is initially a mistake from [Marc] Cucurella but it’s then an even bigger mistake from Disasi and Madueke at the far post,” he said speaking on ESPN.
“That was bad communication, bad covering, bad everything. It’s crazy.”
He added: “If you cannot score goals, at least in that game you have to draw and keep the clean sheet. It’s possible and not complicated; they proved it in the first half but let it go in the second,.
“They played better, and were maybe a bit unlucky, but there are some things that I see that make me think they do everything to not win and sometimes everything to lose the game and that is very annoying.”
