Mauricio Pochettino has shared his thoughts regarding Chelsea’s poor home form in the Premier League.
The Blues have struggled to win matches at Stamford Bridge— a ground that was once feared by rival teams in the Premier League.
Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Brentford underlined how poor Chelsea have been at home in recent seasons. It was the Bees’ third consecutive win away at Chelsea, and when asked what could be done to improve his side’s home form, Pochettino said: “It is about creating a good atmosphere.
“You need to be in the right way with the fans and the team. The team needs to translate ideas that fans can trust. Of course, it works both ways and it is only a matter of time because we have so many talented players but we are still so young as a team.
“Of course, it is not easy to build trust, be mature and accept sometimes. Sometimes the game is going in a direction you don’t want but you have to be calm as a character and say, ‘Hey, let’s play the way we should play the game’. For that to happen, you need time and it is about the maturity to get it.
“This is not about the mentality of the club and badge because Chelsea is built on victories and a strong mentality to win.
“It is not about the badge, club or fans. It’s about the team being young and we need to match this level of capacity to compete always at your best.
“We are competing but missing things. I think when we have all the players fit we will have the right balance.”
