Thiago Silva has admitted he isn’t sure of what the future holds for him and his family, as his current contract at Chelsea gradually draws to its end.
The Brazilian centre back has been with the Blues since 2020, and has become a huge fan favourite since his arrival.
Silva however, has less than a year remaining on his current Chelsea contract, and it’s still unclear whether he will get an extension considering he is already 39.
In a chat with Sky Italia, the defender reflected on his current situation, and vowed to make the most of the remaining months of his current deal.
“The end of my career is approaching and it’s not a simple thing,” Thiago said, as quoted by Teamtalk.
“I have to think if I stop, or if I continue and where I go: there’s the family, I have two sons who play at Chelsea.
“At the moment it’s I take this opportunity to play and make the most of this last year of my contract at Chelsea.
“But I’m very happy and proud of the career I’ve had, of what I’m doing now at 39 years old.
“I have prepared all my life to make the most of my work: football is my passion. Surely after I retire I will continue in this world, I don’t know how yet.”
