Marc Cucurella is partly to blame for Chelsea’s defeat to Brentford over the weekend, following a ‘crazy’ decision he made.

This is according to former Chelsea player, Frank Leboeuf, who thinks the 25-year-old should have passed the ball to Noni Madueke when presented with an opportunity to put Chelsea ahead in the first half.

Cole Palmer picked out Cucurella with a perfectly lofted ball from just outside the Brentford box, with the former Brighton left-back opting to go for goal himself.

Cucurella took the shot with his right foot, which isn’t his strongest, even though Madueke was just inches to his right. And Leboeuf has expressed his disappointment with the Spaniard’s decision making, as he criticised him during an appearance on ESPN FC.

The former Chelsea defender said: “[The] Cucurella chance is crazy, how he didn’t even give the ball to Madueke to score if he’s not able to score a goal with his right foot.”

Cucurella has been in decent form for Chelsea this season, despite not starting games before the injuries to Ben Chilwell and Reece James, and to be fair, no one player can always get it right, so maybe Leboeuf needs to cut him some slack?
