The Premier League are set to investigate Chelsea over the transfers of Samuel Eto’o and Willian.

The two transfers took place under the former ownership of the Blues in the personal of Russian billionaire, Roman Abramovic.

According to The Times, both transfers are under scrutiny from the Premier League after they were flagged by the current owners of the club.

The outlet claims that Eto’o and Willian’s transfers from Anzi Makhachkala in 2013 involved additional payments to yet-to-be-identified entities in Russia, who had no part in the moves.

It’s unclear what things stand on the matter at the moment, but it was reported two months ago, that Chelsea may face points deduction if found guilty of defaulting.

The Blues have already been fined for breaching the rules when they signed Andreas Christensen from Danish club, Brondby back in 2012— and this was despite Chelsea reporting the matter themselves.
