According to Evening Standard, as many as seven Chelsea players will be unavailable for selection for Saturday’s Premier League game against Brentford.

Chelsea striker Armando Broja will miss the game against Brentford after being “treated for irritation” in his knee.

Broja joins long-term injured stars Christopher Nkunku, Ben Chilwell, Romeo Lavia, Trevoh Chalobah, Wesley Fofana and Carney Chukwuemeka on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, Paul Merson has reiterated his belief in Cole Palmer to become a world-class player at Chelsea.

Palmer joined the Blues from Manchester City over the summer for a fee of around £40m and has scored two goals and provided three assists for the Blues already.

Merson told Sportskeeda: “I said it when they signed him that Cole Palmer was a good player and he has shown in recent weeks that he’s very much a player for the present and the future.

“He can unlock defences as he’s used to training like that at Manchester City and has done really well in recent weeks.”
