Mark Lawrenson has backed Chelsea to nick it 2-1 when the Blues host Brentford at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues are in very decent form, having failed to lose a game in their last four outings. They have picked up three wins and a draw from those games, and Lawrenson believes they have what it takes to get a win this weekend.

Brentford, on the other hand, have garnered just 10 points from their opening nine games, but they go into the clash at Stamford Bridge off the back of a 3-0 win against Burnley.

Ex-Liverpool man, Lawrenson told PaddyPower: “Brentford won comfortably last weekend and it could have been five or six against Burnley. I’m going to go with Chelsea to win this, though.

“Slowly but surely they’ve started to chip away at their problems and the longer Mauricio Pochettino is in charge the better their results will be. Chelsea 2-1 Brentford.”
