Chelsea are yet to commence contract negotiations with Conor Gallagher, despite initial reports to the contrary.
This is according to The Athletic, who claims that the Blues are interested in extending the 23-year-old’s contract at Chelsea, after his impressive displays in recent weeks.
The outlet adds that for Gallagher, the priority is to remain at Chelsea, although it remains to be seen whether he would be able to turn down more attractive offers if they come in January.
Gallagher and his agents are also aware that they now hold more power than they previously did, and that power increases with each good display from the player.
The Englishman remains tied to Chelsea until 2025, and the Blues reportedly have no plans of letting him go for nothing.
