Mykhailo Mudryk scored Chelsea’s second goal in the 2-2 draw when we welcomed Arsenal to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The Ukrainian, fresh out of international duty, where he was also on target for his country, seemed to chip Arsenal goalie, David Raya, who strayed into no man’s land in the early stages of the second half.
The goal has however generated quite some controversy, with some claiming that the goal was a mishit cross. Mudryk has now reacted to those claims, and according to him, it wasn’t a fluke at all.
“It was something in the middle, between a cross and a shot,” the winger told the official Chelsea website.
“Before the game, our goalkeeper coach told me to look at their keeper [David Raya] because sometimes he is trying to read things and he can just lose the goal, so I can chip him.
“So it was something I knew and I kept it in my head. I went for something between the cross and the shot and it was a good decision.”
