Chelsea head coach, Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that Mykhailo Mudryk’s goal against Arsenal over the weekend was not a fluke.
The Ukrainian’s second goal for the Blues this season has generated a lot of reactions from people, some of whom believe the effort was intended to be a cross to Raheem Sterling.
Arsenal coach, Mikel Arteta while reacting to post-match questions, implied it wasn’t a chipped goal, but his opposite number, Pochettino is confident it was.
“Yes [he meant it]. To be honest, he tried,” Poch told the BBC post-match.
“It doesn’t mean that only him deserves the credit but he knew the position of the keeper and that it was possible to score from that position. He needed his first goal at Stamford Bridge.
“He still needs to improve but with this goal, I think he is going to be more confident in the future.”
Mudryk has been a lot better for Chelsea this season, and seems to be improving with each game.
