Mauricio Pochettino has revealed he and his coaching staff have introduced a new fitness programme to help Reece James beat his injury woes.

James is back for Chelsea after spending the last seven to eight weeks on the sidelines.

The Chelsea captain has had to deal with recurring injury problems, but Poch is hoping the new programme can help.

“He’s much better,” Pochettino said ahead of the 2-2 draw with Arsenal.

“He’s doing well. He’s progressing. He’s still not at his best, not 100 per cent, but he’s close to being able to help the team at some point.

“What we are going to do is trying to avoid these injury problems. We are building a very good strategy to get him to his best and then keep him fit.”
