Gary Neville has told Chelsea the three major problems they must address after the 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Saturday evening.
The Blues took a 1-0 lead in the first half thanks to Cole Palmer, who slotted home from the spot after William Saliba was adjudged to have handled the ball in his own box.
Chelsea added a second after the break— Mykhailo Mudryk scoring a worldie from the left side of the pitch after a quick exchange with Conor Gallagher.
Chelsea were in complete control, and looked good for the win, but a poor pass to Enzo Fernandez from goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was intercepted by Declan Rice, who hit it from yards out to give the Gunners a lifeline.
Second half substitute, Leandro Trossard netted Arsenal’s second in the 84th minute to make it 2-2, and deny the Blues an important win.
Neville, while speaking on The Gary Neville Podcast post-match, said Chelsea played well, but needed to sort out their striking and goalkeeping departments, and find a solution to Thiago Silva’s inevitable departure, seeing as the Brazilian is already 39 years old.
“Chelsea have shown a blueprint of what the future could look like,” the Manchester United legend said.
“They’ve still got a problem up front, they haven’t got a striker, and I still think they’ve got a problem with Thiago Silva’s age.
“He’s so important for them, but he is 39. And then the goalkeeper… Can he step up to be a good goalkeeper?”
