Marc Cucurella has revealed that the current mood in the Chelsea dressing room is one of sadness and anger after the 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Saturday.
The Blues threw away a two-goal advantage in the second-half, as Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard scored late-on to cancel out Cole Palmer and Mykhailo Mudryk’s goals.
Speaking after the match, Cucurella, who was impressive told the official Chelsea website: “The feeling is one of anger, really. I know we drew the game but it feels like a loss because we were in control.
“We played very well, everybody put in a good performance but we need to improve in controlling the game better because we should have seen the result out and got the win.
“The effort shown by the players was very good and deserved the three points, so to not win the game makes me angry.
“We made two mistakes and got punished by a very good team. This is the Premier League, you can concede goals from mistakes and because we are a young team, I think this is something we need to work on and improve for the future.”
He continued: “We played well and there are definitely positives to take. If we play at this level for the rest of the season, we will win a lot of games.
“Like I said, we are angry at the result but we are happy with the performance generally. It gives us confidence and we need to take this into the next game.
“The reality is we have only come away with one point, which isn’t enough for a club like Chelsea, but for sure we have things to be proud of and things we can build on.
“If we play like this going forward, I’m sure we can have a good season. We have only played eight or nine games, so there is still a lot of matches to play and a lot of points to be won.
“We need to improve and keep building.”
