Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta has insisted that Chelsea’s second goal in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal was a mistake, and not a chipped goal as claimed by some.

Mykhailo Mudryk scored his first goal at Stamford Bridge after some good footwork at the edge of the Arsenal penalty area. The Ukrainian seemed to chip the ball over David Raya, who had strayed away from his post.

Replays suggested that the goal was not intended to hit the net, and instead, was a misplaced cross for Raheem Sterling, which somehow ended up in Raya’s net.

However, according to beIN Sport’s Carrie Brown, Chelsea goalkeeping coach, Toni Jimenez told Mudryk to be on the lookout for Raya straying off his line, and that was exactly what the winger capitalised on, but when Arteta was told the goal was being claimed by the Blues, the Arsenal boss wasn’t buying it.

“They said it was intentional?’ asked Arteta, who looked surprised.

“It didn’t seem to me. They see much better. If it’s on purpose, credit to them.”

Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino will be livid with his side after seeing them throw away what initially seemed to be an easy win.
