Former Liverpool man, Mark Lawrenson has predicted a draw in the Premier League meeting between Chelsea and Arsenal this weekend. The Blues are set to host their local rivals at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, October 21.
The Gunners are unbeaten in the league this season, and are currently joint-top of the division, along with Tottenham, with 20 points apiece. Chelsea on the other hand, are outside the top 10, in 11th place.
The Blues won their last two league matches on the trot, scoring six times in both games, and Lawrenson doesn’t see Arsenal outperforming Mauricio Pochettino’s men in their own backyard on Saturday.
Writing in his Paddy Power column ahead of the game, he said: “Both of these won last time but I feel this will be a draw. Arsenal had a massive win against Manchester City and they seem to have this knack of scoring really, really late goals which is great but I would suggest that Chelsea are improving a lot.”
Lawrenson’s final prediction: Chelsea 1 vs 1 Arsenal.
