Chelsea skipper, Reece James appeared to mock Arsenal fans after making a surprise appearance during Chelsea’s training session on Wednesday.

The England international has been unable to feature for Mauricio Pochettino’s side since the opening day of the Premier League, after picking up an injury.

James has worked hard to be back since then, and fans were hopeful he would be ready to play against the Gunners this weekend before crazy reports emerged on Wednesday, that he would not be able to make the game after suffering a setback in his recovery journey.

However, both Chelsea and the player have since debunked those rumours with posts on their social media platforms.

The Blues shared an image of James in training on Wednesday, and added the caption, ‘Out on the grass.’

In his own post on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), the right-back shared a photo of himself smiling, which he captioned: ‘against all odds’.

Chelsea fans have been in celebratory mood since the photo surfaced online, with some of the belief that James’ caption was targeted at Arsenal fans, who were hoping he wouldn’t make the Saturday clash at Stamford Bridge.
