Mauricio Pochettino has hailed the qualities of Conor Gallagher, after the England international began the season well with Chelsea.

Gallagher was close to leaving the Blues in the last few transfer windows, but ended up staying, and his performances this season have been up there with the best in the league.

The 23-year-old is currently on international duty with England, and Poch is pleased with what he has seen from him so far.

The gaffer told club media in an interview: “Conor is a player that can run a lot and I think therefore is massive. He’s a real professional and can play in different positions.

“You can see him playing like a 10, like an 8, a 6. He’s a box-to-box, he can run, he can play and build from [the] back.”

Chelsea are rumoured to be considering making Gallagher a new contract offer, and the player is said to be willing to accept it as long as he’s assured of regular playing time.
