Noni Madueke has revealed he’s been getting help from Chelsea legend, Ashley Cole as he aims to improve his game.
The winger has sent a huge message to Mauricio Pochettino during this international break after bagging three goals in two matches.
Madueke’s first two goals came against Serbia— a match the England U-21 side won 9-1, while the third strike came during Monday’s 3-2 defeat at the hands of Ukraine.
The England national is desperate to improve his finishing, and he says Cole has been helpful in that regard.
“Ash takes a very personal approach with bettering my game,” explained Madueke regarding his relationship with ex-Chelsea great Ashley Cole, who is assistant coach for the England Under-21s.
“I’m extremely good in one-on-one situations, but I could probably score and assist more, so he’s on me with that type of stuff.
“I got two good finishes against Serbia – one more like the goals I usually score, and one one-touch finish, so I’m proud.
“One thing I’ve got to add to my game is the easier goals, the one-touch goals – that’s what I’m trying to improve.
“I work very hard on the last bit. I know I go at such pace that sometimes I’ve got to calm down at the last moment, take a breath and then slot it away.”
