Reece James has barely played a game for Chelsea since the start of the 2023-24 season.

The right-back has been injured for weeks, after playing in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against Liverpool back in August.

James has been working hard to get back to full fitness since then, and some fans were expectant to see him against Arsenal after the international break.

However, reports football.london now claims that there is a chance the Blues’ captain will not make the match.

According to the outlet, while James is working to regain full fitness ahead of the game, it isn’t certain he will be fully ready to take part in the London derby.

If the report turns out true, it means that Chelsea will have to play Malo Gusto at right-back against the Gunners, except Mauricio Pochettino will want to continue with the impressive Marc Cucurella.

Malo Gusto is now available for selection for Chelsea having served his three-match suspension.
