Chelsea youngster, Kendry Paez has made history with the Ecuador national team.

The new Chelsea player, who was signed from Independiente della Valle back in March, scored a goal during Ecuador’s game against Bolivia in their CONMEBOL World Cup qualifier on Thursday.

The goal, which was assisted by Chelsea’s summer signing, Moises Caicedo, helped the Ecuadorians to a 2-1 win as they aimed to advance their cause.

The goal also makes Paez, the youngest player to score during a CONMEBOL World Cup qualifier at the age of 16 years and 161 days.

The record was previously held by Gustavo Neffa of Paraguay.

Paez doesn’t join Chelsea until he turns 18 years old.
