Chelsea must not sell Armando Broja as he could potentially become a top player for the club. This is the message from former Blue, Glen Johnson, who is a fan of the 22-year-old.

Broja, who recently made a return to the Chelsea squad after a long-term injury, was handed a start in the 2-0 win against London rivals, Fulham. The Armenian scored a goal in the match, and was included in the starting XI during the 4-1 win away at Burnley.

However, the young striker struggled against the Clarets, and had to be replaced with Nicolas Jackson, who went on to score Chelsea’s fourth in the encounter.

There are reports that Broja is wanted by Italian giants, Inter Milan, but Johnson is adamant the striker should stay.

“I think he could potentially become a top player for Chelsea,” Johnson told Betfred.

“He’s got age on his side, he’s a very good technical player and he’s calm and composed in front of goal, which is something you need if you’re going to be a striker for a top team.

“He’s yet to hit the heights, but he’s young and definitely worth having as an option for Chelsea and it’s better than them spending an awful lot of money on somebody else.”
