Cole Palmer has been one of Chelsea’s most exciting players this season, following his move from Manchester City in the summer.
The winger has already picked up a goal and three assists since his transfer to Chelsea, and many Chelsea fans are happy with his arrival. However, one question that many Blues’ fans have always had on their lips since Palmer’s arrival at the Bridge is ‘Why was he sold by Manchester City?’
Well, according to journalist, Simon Phillips, Cole left Man City no choice, but to sell him in the summer after asking to leave and go to a club where he would enjoy more minutes.
The journalist wrote on the transfer: “Some Chelsea fans were a bit underwhelmed by Palmer’s arrival.
“This is maybe because if Manchester City agreed to sell, some (wrongly in my view) argue that somehow means Palmer is not quite up to elite-standards.
“Yet what some people don’t realise is it was Palmer who wanted to leave. Manchester City had to respect his wishes for more minutes and by departing the champions he’s probably even more intent to prove a point.
“Manchester City’s loss definitely looks like being Chelsea’s gain.”
