Bristol City manager, Joey Barton has compared Harvey Vale to Chelsea legend, Ashley Cole.

Vale is currently on loan at Bristol City, where he has played at left-back and impressed.

The 20-year-old was impressive as Bristol beat Port Vale, and also in their defeat against Oxford.

Barton said in a chat with BBC Radio Bristol: “The two games he’s played in there from the start I think he’s looked like a young Ashley Cole; he looks like he’s played there forever.

“He’s a footballer who is high on football IQ, he’s got a great passing range, he can run, decent in the air.”
